Waiting for the bus non nasce in un ufficio, ma a Jodhpur, la città blu del Rajasthan. Io, vestita di nero, con la testa piena di domande.
Poi le ho viste. Donne in sari coloratissimi, sedute nella polvere, tra mucche, turbanti e profumo di fiori e spezie. Ridevano. Erano sotto un albero, alla fermata del loro autobus. Avevano poco, ma avevano qualcosa che io avevo perso: il sorriso. In quell’istante mi sono chiesta: dove le porterà quell’autobus? Ci sono autobus persi o presi al volo, per errore o per scelta. Pieni o vuoti, fermi o in ripartenza. Come la vita. Sono tornata a Milano con la visione del mio autobus. Un viaggio attraverso l’Italia, tra luoghi del saper fare: Caltagirone, Vietri, Venezia, Gubbio. Ogni fermata è un artigiano. Ogni materiale è una memoria che diventa forma. Waiting for the Bus non ha una sede fissa. È un dialogo continuo con laboratori e piccole manifatture, dove tradizioni antiche diventano oggetti contemporanei, pensati per vivere ovunque. Ogni pezzo è una fermata di quel viaggio iniziato a Jodhpur.
